Bishambar N. Makhija is a Partner at The Law Point. He is a retired IAS officer from the Maharashtra cadre and has over 35 years’ experience in executive and judicial functioning, as well as development administration embracing urban development, infrastructure, technology transfer, and business collaborations. He has served on the boards of several companies in the private, public and joint sectors. He has considerable exposure to the banking, energy and transport sectors including aviation, shipping & ports, railways & highways.
Mr. Makhija retired as the Principal Advisor, Planning Commission, and Secretary to the Government of India, and has since served on many Government committees and commissions. He was on the Board of Credibility Alliance and was an Advisor to Society for Service to Voluntary Agencies (SOSVA). He was a leading member of the Committee constituted by the Planning Commission to review accreditation policies for voluntary organisations.
He is qualified in commerce and economics from Delhi University, in law from Bombay University and in business administration from the University of Hawaii, USA.
