Suraj, an experienced advocate based in Mumbai, has worked directly with several senior advocates and served as an in-house law officer at SEBI for nearly nine years. He has represented clients before the Supreme Court, Bombay High Court, NCLT, NCLAT, SAT, and Civil Court in Mumbai and Delhi.

Suraj is an expert in constitutional law, securities laws, commercial and corporate disputes, insolvency & bankruptcy law, civil law, white collar crimes, criminal law and property law and arbitration-related proceedings.

During his tenure in SEBI, he managed the SEBI-Sahara litigation nation-wide, and drafted key regulations such as settlement related regulations and their amendments, including framing amendments to the main securities enactments such as the SEBI Act, the SCRA and Depositories Act. He also addressed critical issues related to crypto-assets, National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL) commodity future violations, and insolvency law.

Suraj has appeared for SEBI in significant matters involving corporate schemes, bankruptcy law and securities laws, particularly for the Reliance Group. He has represented SEBI appeals concerning the interface between the IBC and SEBI claims, as well as in the Karvy Stock Broking scam appeals.
